Phoebe Bly’s new work will appear in a two person show with Michael Reece  at Caldbeck, May 25th – June 23rd.  Bly-Reece two person show June 2024

Phoebe Bly writes:

I grew up in Maine during the 70s and 80s, in a large family of ‘back to the land” parents. Until I was ten, we lived in a small cabin without running water or electricity. I spent most of my time outside, which gave me a huge appreciation of nature, and is the subject of a lot of my work. While I paint a variety of subjects, they need to strike me on a visceral level in order to catch my interest. I’m a self-taught painter, so I’ve had to find my own mechanism for articulate expression and often the only thing that carried me through was a deep love for the subject and a desire to do it justice.

Bly had her debut exhibition at Caldbeck in June 2022. Phoebe Bly 2022 e-catalogue
